Bored this Week? Let's Drink on a School Night!

Work week or bad economy got you down? Want to go out somewhere but scared to travel too far out of your comfort zone? Well I have some sure fire hits for your school night drinking pleasure.. Both are within walking distance  (or cheap cab ride for the lazies or bus ride for the ultra cheap and lazy) from Mount Pleasant and are just getting started, but are already getting to be awesome. In short, get off your ass and come to:

TONIGHT, 11/18 @ 9pm
Wonderland Ballroom

Already featured by the Washington Post's Going Out Guide and by Brightest Young Things, this is one of the first "gay nights" in the Columbia Heights area for gays and for the straights who are cool enough to have gay friends (or want to meet some). The organizers are trying to bring Wonderland back to its gay roots with this monthly "eccentric/alternative gay" dance party. (Quick history lesson, prior to becoming Wonderland, the space was a gay bar called Nob Hill. Who knew?)

Cover is free, and there's a $5 Pink Sock Shot + PBR special on for the entire evening. Tonight is the first of many to come.. See you there boys and girls!

Also:

Thursday, 11/19
Napoleon Bistro and Lounge

DC's first (unverified, but might as well be true) and best (verified) party featuring the best of French house,  electro and pop music by DJs TMY and Shea Van Horn. This month's event features an extended happy hour from 8-10 PM with half-price champagne cocktails and 2009 BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU plus tapas menu from $5-$9..

If you're skeptical, don't be. Here's asampling of tracks from last month's Maison. Mind blowing. Still scared? I guess you could always just stay home and eat your freedom fries you ethnocentric fatty.
